Dave and Cindy

Hi! We are Dave and Cindy. We are happy to be able to introduce ourselves to you and we look forward to getting to know you too. You are already in our prayers and our hearts!

Our Story:

We were introduced by a friend in April 1997. He arranged a surprise date at an amusement park. After spending a day riding lots of roller coasters and doing a lot of laughing, we knew he made a great match! It only took two months before we knew we would one day get married. Dave proposed in August at our favorite restaurant. He got on one knee and had the waitress bring out a giant chocolate chip cookie that said "Will you marry me?" We were married in April 1998. It is such a blessing to marry your best friend!

We both love children and knew we wanted to begin a family right away. After a few years passed without a pregnancy, we met with a reproductive specialist. During the years that followed, it was amazing to see how God was preparing our hearts to adopt. By the time we reached our third treatment, we knew, without a doubt, we were meant to have a family through adoption. We made the decision to discontinue fertility medications and begin this journey.

Dave:

I would describe myself as generous, funny, young at heart and easy going. I love sports, both playing and watching. Football is my favorite. I'm an Eagles fan and follow the Ravens too. Hockey, basketball and baseball are up there as well. I also love to cook and worked as a chef for many years. I like spending time with our nieces and nephews and sharing in their interests.

I work as an HVAC technician. It is a challenging, but interesting career that has created a stable financial base for my family. I feel a child will thrive in the environment my wife, Cindy and I have created in our home. My wife is a warm hearted, loving and intelligent woman. She will be an excellent mother and give a child everything they could need.

About Cindy:

I've been told I am joyful and loving. I love to laugh! I am introspective, but silly and playful as well. I have a deep faith and love for Jesus. He has changed my life!

I work as a secretary and engineering technician for a small firm. I really enjoy my current job, but would have to say, my favorite was teaching preschool. I have always had a heart for children. I have been working with them since I was in my early teens, helping with Sunday school and Vacation Bible School and doing lots of babysitting. I hope to return to teaching someday, but until then, I have been blessed with a wonderful work environment.

In my free time, I love to read and I collect classic children's literature. I enjoy baking cookies and am famous, in Dave's family, for my homemade bread. I like heirloom crafts, knitting, crocheting, scrapbooks and journaling and love decorating our home. Since meeting Dave, I've become a sports fan and will play the occasional video game with him as well. Dave is so fun to be around and can always make me laugh. He is such an incredibly kind, loving and strong person. I can't wait to see him become the wonderful Dad I know he will be!

Together:

We are both big music fans and enjoy all types. We enjoy cooking together and watching movies. We are very close to our families and we all get together as much as possible. Being "Uncle Dave" and "Aunt Cindy" is the best! We have five nieces and two nephews who tell us we are their favorite babysitters. You can usually find us playing basketball, Barbies, Play Station and Polly Pocket when the kids are around! Our family traditions are so important to us, especially during the holidays. We look forward to creating many of our own. There is and always will be an abundance of love, fun and happiness in our home and hearts for a child.

God bless you! Thank you for taking a moment to meet us!

Dave and Cindy
