Dear Birth Parent,
First of all, let us tell you how much we admire you for the selfless act of love you are doing by choosing adoption. This is a type of love that not many people possess in this world. Even if you don’t choose us, we just want to let you know that we think that you are a very strong, courageous, and loving person for putting your child’s needs first. We have very personal experiences with adoption and foster care as Gretchen’s parents adopted two children and Gretchen herself is adopted.
We are Gretchen and Devin. We have been married for 7 years, and reside in a beautiful and rural area of West Virginia. Gretchen was born in New Hampshire but moved to West Virginia as a baby, when her parents adopted her. Gretchen has a healthy relationship with her birth family, and they are considered part of the extended family. Devin was born and raised in West Virginia. We met in high school, and shortly after Gretchen graduated, we got married.
Gretchen is a teacher and Devin works in the technology field for a local business. Church is very central to our family’s life and we attend church and church functions regularly. Instilling good morals and values in any child we raise is very important to us. We live a very “family centered” lifestyle and family is the most important thing to us. We are currently foster parents, and have fostered several children in our home. We anxiously await the day that a child can permanently become a part of our family.
We have a variety of interests. We like to play games, watch movies and play with the dogs. We all love to swim and have a pool that we enjoy in the summer time. We also live very close to a park and a lake.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us. We pray that God is with you in this very important decision.
Sincerely Yours,
Gretchen and Devin
