Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read about us. We respect you for choosing life for your baby. We know you are facing a tough decision at this time considering adoption. We wish you the best in whatever decision you make. We’re going to try our best to help you get to know us.

We are John and Lisa and we have been married over 10 years. We feel our marriage works so well because we truly are best friends. We’ve already been touched in the best way by adoption. We adopted our daughter Emily in 2000. We both still get teary eyed when we think about that day. We were so happy and as first time parents hopeful that we could be the kind of parents she deserves. We are hopeful and excited about the possibility of becoming parents for a second time.

We’re lucky to have our families living close to us. John’s parents live in our town and Lisa’s parents are only an hour and a half away. John has 4 sisters, Lisa has 1 brother and 1 sister. Between us we have 2 nephews and 6 nieces. Lisa’s sister has a daughter Elizabeth. She and Emily are more like sisters than cousins! Everyone is thrilled about us wanting to add another child to our family.

I’m 37 years old and my personality is laid back. I’m an optimistic person and a hard worker. I enjoy my government job. I love the fact that I rotate days off so I get to be home on different days. I’m an outdoors person and recently I’ve been teaching Emily how to throw a ball and hit a ball. I love to swim and plan to teach Emily this summer. She loves the water too! In my spare time I like playing cards and taking day trips with Lisa and Emily. We really enjoy our local zoo.

I am 31 years old and happy to be a stay home mom! I enjoy everything about being a mother. I love taking Emily to her activities and watching her have a good time. In my spare time I love to latch hook and read. I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I’m a big CSI fan. I’m lucky to have good friends, most of them with children. Often times, Emily and I will meet friends at the park and have a picnic. Emily loves to pack a picnic basket. I like to exercise and belong to a local gym. I love to cook and Emily enjoys helping me bake cookies. Right now, my focus in life is my daughter. Like John, I can’t wait to have another child to love. Being a mom is the best thing I can imagine. John and I think 2 children is a good number for us. So, our next child will be the baby of the family.

I am 6 yrs old and full of life! I love my dance classes, ballet is my favorite. I just had my preschool graduation and will be starting kindergarten in September. My favorite toys are Barbies, Polly Pockets, my Disney princess guitar and my dress up clothes. I also love playing with my friends. I will be a good big sister!

Home & Community

We own a 3 bedroom split level home. We live in a cul de sac, which we love because it makes it safe for a child to ride a bike and skate. All 3 of us enjoy going to the movie theatre. We see almost every kid’s movie that comes out. We have 2 indoor kittens named Lindsay and Lexie. Every summer we take a little vacation. We like the beach and amusement parks.

It’s important to us for our children to have good morals and values. We belong to the United Methodist Church. Our church has a lot of activities for children. Emily enjoys Sunday School and Children’s Church. We feel lucky to have found a church with such nice people.

As a family, we can’t wait to welcome and love another child. Lisa will continue being a stay home mom for our second baby. If you feel we might be the family for your child, we would be thrilled and honored to meet or talk with you if that is your wish. Our promise to you would be that this baby would grow up with love and respect for you. There is no bigger gift than that of life. We are raising Emily to understand adoption from the beginning. We would do they same for our second child too. Adoption is and always will be a positive thing in our lives. Take care! Thanks again for taking the time to read about us.
