Julia began her career as a social worker in 1993 at the Children’s Home Society. Julia earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Glenville State College and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from West Virginia Graduate College in South Charleston . She is currently working towards a second Masters degree at Marshall University Graduate College.
Julia has served in several roles with the Society. She has been a social worker in the Society’s shelter, home based and foster care programs, and has been the adoption social worker in Charleston since 1996. Julia is a certified CPR and first aid instructor through the American Red Cross and trains staff, adoptive parents and foster parents monthly.
Julia truly enjoys working with kids and families through the adoption program.

Millie began working for Children’s Home Society in 1975. in the adoption program. Prior to working for the Society, Millie worked for Catholic Charities in the adoption program for more than six years. Millie enjoys her work in the adoption program where she has had the opportunity of meeting many adoptive parents and has had the pleasure of seeing children receive a family.She enjoys her role in the adoption resource center doing research and reunions, working with young adults, adoptees, birth parents and adoptive parents. Millie has been responsible for several reunions and hopes to continue in this role.
In 2003 Millie was chosen as an “Angel in Adoption.” This is a national award created by the Congressional Adoption Caucus.
